Border Security Forces (BSF) have foiled two consecutive infiltration bids along the International Border (IB) in Kathua and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
A group of four to five armed militants approached the international border on the intervening night of July 10-11 in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district, a BSF spokesman said.
The BSF troops kept them under close observation as they were waiting for appropriate opportunity to cross over from across the border, he said.

Similarly, on July 9 another infiltration attempt was foiled by alert troops of BSF in the Ramnagar sector of Samba district where another similar group of armed militants were trying to infiltrate, he said.
The BSF spokesman said that Pakistan agencies and non-state actors instructed terrorist groups to infiltrate and spoil the peaceful environment in Jammu and Kashmir and take best advantage of present unrest in valley and ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
