The BSF team, which was more experienced between the two sides, gained momentum after repulsing persistent raid from the TFA men before launching a counter-attack, but their frontmen Twa Tomba Singh and Hanshda squandered opportunities in 25th and 40th minute of the first half.

The first half ended on even note with neither side converting their changes. In the second half both the teams changed their strategies with TFA starting to play short passes and BSF long ones.

In the 72nd minute, BSF midfielder Manprit Singh dodged past two TFA defenders and gave a cross to Twa Tomba Singh who placed the ball neatly into the opponent net.

Trailing 0-1, TFA boys vainly tried to come back into the match by raiding the opponent goal mouth at regular interval but BSF custodian Manojit Ghosh proved equal to foil the rivals from scoring.
