A BSF jawan has been arrested for firing at his wife during a quarrel over some trivial issues at his residence at Bhopura in Ghaziabad's Sahibabad area, police said today.
The incident took place last night after the Border Security Force (BSF) jawan, Kamal Singh, returned home in an inebriated state. He started quarrelling with his wife over some trivial issues, Sahibabad police station inspector Upendra Yadav said.
When his wife protested against his misbehaviour, Singh fired at her from his revolver. His wife called up police helpline number late last night and alleged that Singh attempted to kill her, the police inspector said.
The accused was arrested this morning and has been sent to jail after a medical examination, the police officer added.
