Laying emphasis on controlling the trans-border crime including cattle smuggling and illegal migration across the Indo-Bangla border, Director General of BSF DK Pathak today stressed on the need to ensure the safety and security of the BSF jawans while operating at the border.
"While addressing the troops at Angrail and Haridaspur border outposts, he sensitised the troops for respect to human rights, good relation with their Bangladeshi counterparts, local population and civil administration. He stressed on the need to ensure own safety and security while operating at the border," said a press release issued by BSF.
The visit by DG comes a few days after a BSF jawan was killed by cattle smuggler on Indo-Bangla border.

Pathak today reviewed the security scenario and border management along Indo-Bangla border and held a meeting with DIGs and Commandants of the BSF in West Bengal.
He also carried out a riverine patrol along the Ichamati river on the newly inducted twin engine speed boat.
