Disturbed over infiltration of militants into Jammu region with "ease", Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said BSF needs to take a look at vulnerable areas and plug the gaps.

In a series of tweets, Omar complimented the police, CRPF and the army for a swift and coordinated response as militants had come heavily armed with clear plans to cause massive havoc.

"However, the ease with which militants exploited gaps in the fence to cross the international border is a matter of grave concern.

"The BSF needs to take a look at vulnerable areas & plug these gaps because these militants haven't given up & we can't let them succeed," Omar said.

The Chief Minister appreciated the response of the army and the police in containing the fallout to the initial casualties defeating the evil designs.

"The swift and coordinated response of army, police and CRPF has been markedly better compared to the Samba/Hiranagar attack some months ago," he said and added militants had come very heavily armed and clearly planned to cause massive havoc, "plans that they were unable to carry out at all," he said.

Police and Army had come under sharp criticism when militants carried out twin attacks on September 26 last year at Hira Nagar police station and an army camp in which 12 people, including Lt Col Bikramjeet Singh, were killed.
