They made an attempt to enter India last night, but BSF did not allow.

Following intimation from BSF, Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) personnel arrived at the spot and were trying to convince them to return home, the sources said.

Over 70,000 people, mostly Buddhist Chakmas, took shelter in refugee camps in South Tripura district in 1986 following clashes with the plains people.

They returned home in 1997 after a peace accord.
