Border Security Force (BSF) today seized heroin weighing six kg, worth around Rs 30 crore in the international market, from near a border outpost at the international border, a senior official said today.
During routine patrolling in the wee hours today along the North Dhariwal Border outpost of Amritsar sector, jawans noticed suspicious activities of Pakistani smugglers, Deputy Inspector General of Punjab Frontier of BSF, R S Katiyar said.
When the force personnel challenged the smugglers, they fled from the spot in the cover of grass, he said.

This year the BSF has recovered 75 kg of heroin along the border area in Amritsar sector till now while 151 kg of drug has been seized from across the state, the DIG added.
