BSF seizes 24 kg heroin in Punjab

BSF today seized 24 kg of heroin having a street value of Rs 120 crore from two separate districts of Punjab.

BSF personnel seized 22 kg of heroin in the area of the Bahadurke Border Out Post (BOP) in Fazilka district and 2 kg in the area of BOP Gatti Hayat in Ferozepur sector, a BSF spokesman said here.

Besides, BSF also recovered one Pakistani SIM card near BOP Gatti Hayat.

The recoveries were made during searches by BSF personnel along the border in Ferozepur sector.

Keeping in view the vulnerability of border due to high grown paddy crops and ongoing harvesting season, Anil Paliwal, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the sectors for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the menace of narcotics smuggling and activities of anti-national elements on Punjab border with Pakistan.
