BSH Household Appliances Group today inaugurated its technology centre here which would cater to its Asia Pacific and emerging markets.
BSH India, part of Europe's largest manufacturer of home appliances, has become a technology and innovation hub after opening of BSH Technology Centre Asia Pacific, the company said in a statement.
This will help BSH to develop localised technology for the Indian market and to become center of product development for the APAC region as well as emerging countries in South America and Africa, it added.
Over the investment in the centre, the company said: "The total investment made in 2015 was USD 100 million. A large part of the investment has gone into the technology centre in Bengaluru."
BSH Technology Centre Asia Pacific will focus on developing innovative technologies for the cooling and laundry categories and gradually extend across categories, it said.
The centre currently has 100 research scientists and plans to expand the ambit to around 400 employees over the next three years.
