Pawan Kumar Tak, the sub-divisional officer (SDO) of Bhopal BSNL, appeared before the court to provide the mobile call details of the five accused, including Zahida Parvez, her colleague Saba Farooqui and three alleged male shooters.

Tak appeared before the special CBI court of Justice Anupam Srivastava and was examined by CBI senior public prosecutor Hemant Shukla and cross-examined by defence lawyers Mahendra Morya, Sunil Srivastava, H O Soni, and Pradeep Gupta for about four hours.

"Call details were established during the statement by

the BSNL officer and who talked to whom would be disclosed in the next trials of the case," Shukla told reporters.

Saba's defence lawyer Sunil Srivastava, however, said the BSNL provided photocopies of call details which were not acceptable in the court and the prosecution witness did not divulge any SMS details and identity of many callers.

Main accused Zahida's defence lawyer H O Soni claimed that her client did not use the company's service on her mobile phone.

Defence cousel Pradeep Gupta alleged that it was a conspiracy of the CBI to trap his clients Tabish and Saquib Ali 'Danger', through call-details, which he said, they did not exchange, nor the numbers of mobiles mentioned in the prosecution witness' documents belonged to them.

Reacting to CBI's prayer, which it filed yesterday in the same court, Zahida and Saba questioned the need of examination again after ten months in jail.

The court will hear bail application of two accused Tabish and Saquib and take up the CBI's prayer for examination of two female accused Zahida and Saba during the next trial on January 24. The next prosecution witnesses would be produced in the CBI special court on February 12 and 13.

Shehla was shot dead outside her house in Bhopal's Koh-e-Fiza locality on August 16, 2011.
