Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited in Puducherry has recorded a profit of Rs 13 croreduring 2016-2017, registering a 2.07 per cent increase compared to the year ago period, a top official said today.
Addressing reporters here, the Principal General Manager R. Marshal Antony Leo said despite competition from private sector, BSNL here had registered as many as 60,000 mobile connections last year.
As of now it was serving 50,000 subscribers under landline connections in Puducherry.

Eleven telephone exchanges were being upgraded under 'Next Generation network' technology scheme which would cover around 34,000 connections and this would involve an expenditure of Rs four crore, he said.
The facility would be launched soon, he added.
