BSP activists today staged a protest against Punjab government's move to impose property tax and its "discriminatory" approach regarding power subsidy.
Led by party's state General Secretary Jarnail Nangal, protesters submitted memorandum to local authorities for forwarding it to Punjab Governor Shivraj Patil.
Addressing protesters, Nangal alleged that the SAD-BJP government had burdened people with property tax even though it was not in their poll manifesto.

He also said the BSP was opposed to the discriminatory approach regarding power subsidies and demanded that "big landlords should not be given this facility so that the poor sections enjoyed it uniformly".
Nangal also demanded withdrawal of false cases registered by SAD-BJP alliance against their political adversaries.
He also demanded that the cap on subsidised LPG cylinders be raised further from the proposed 12 cylinders annually as one cylinder per month was not sufficient for a household.
