BSP MLC Sanjiv Dwivedi booked for attacking businessman

BSP MLC Sanjiv Dwivedi and two others have been booked for allegedly attacking a local businessman and extorting money from him.

A FIR against Dwivedi and two of his supporters Vishal Rao and Sanjay Chauraisa was lodged following a complaint by local businessman Sanjay Kedia last night. A case has been registered under various section of the IPC including attempt to murder against the trio.

According to the complainant, Dwivedi called Kedia at his residence at Acharya Ramchandra colony on February 16 and demanding extortion money from the businessman.

When he refused to pay money, Dwivedi and his supporters opened fire in which one person was injured, he said.
 

The MLC had yesterday filed a FIR against Kedia, his associate Sriprakash Tewari and a dozen other unnamed persons for opening fire at his residence that night.

According to Dwivedi's complaint, a heated argument broke out between him and Kedia during a hockey tournament on February 16 afternoon. Later, Kedia and some of his friends came to Dwivedi's residence and a scuffle took place during which some shots were fired injuring one Sarfaraz on the spot.

Police is investigating the matter.
