Following allegations that abusive language was used by BSP leaders against the daughter of expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today said the Mayawati led party should advise its workers to not indulge in such activities.

"Abusing and traumatising wife and minor daughter of Sri Dayashankar Singh is condemnable," Naidu said in a tweet.

"BSP leadership should advise its leaders not to indulge in such activities," the Information and Broadcasting minister added in another tweet.

BSP had yesterday rejected the allegations levelled in an FIR lodged against its leaders and workers for using "abusive language" during a protest and termed it was an attempt to cover the "crime" of expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh.

Singh's mother Tetra Devi had lodged an FIR at Hazratganj police station against the "abusive" utterances against women members of the family during BSP's protest yesterday.

BSP general secretary Naseemuddin Siddiqui had dubbed it as BJP's tactics to distract public attention and regain political ground lost by it due to Singh's abusive remarks against Mayawati.
