BTech student among two found shot dead in Meerut

Two persons, including a 21-year-old engineering student, have allegedly been shot dead in two separate incidents in the district, police said today.

Pankaj, resident of Bheemnagar in Hastinapur area and a first-year BTech student at a local college, was found shot dead near the Gang canal in the district yesterday.

He had gone from his home on Sunday on a motorcycle for some work but went missing since then, police said.

His face and body were found burnt, apparently to prevent identification, they said, adding his motorcycle was not found.

In another incident last evening an auto-rickshaw driver, identified as 45-year-old Jaipal, was found shot dead near a tubewell in Jitholi village of Bhaawanpur area of the district, police said.
 

Jaipal's relatives said he had left home with his vehicle yesterday morning

The bodies were sent for the post mortem, police said, adding that FIRs have been registered against unknown persons in both the cases.
