People of Leh today celebrated Buddha Purnima, the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha, with joy and fervour.

Thousands, including school children, monks, nuns, gathered at Leh Chokang, a Buddhist temple, from where they proceeded through different ways to Tsemo Gonpa, a Buddhist monastery here.

The procession culminated at the historic Leh Pologround with a cultural programme, in which several speakers addressed the gathering and threw light on the life of Lord Buddha.
