Congress today said the just concluded Budget session of Parliament was a "disappointment" for the NDA government as it failed to pass key bills and accused it of not following the due process of legislative scrutiny.

"Government has created a new record of avoiding Parliamentary procedure and due process which is our right," Party spokesperson Sushmita Dev said over government's reluctance to refer bills to the standing committees.

Her remarks came in the backdrop of the government failing to ensure passage of the controversial Land Acquisition Bill as also key reform measure of GST amid stiff resistance from opposition.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi led the opposition attack on the land Bill.

Dev suggested that the government had brought a tame bill on black money instead of fulfilling its promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh in the bank account of each citizen by ensuring return of black money stashed abroad.

Noting that eminent lawyer Ram Jethmalani has attacked the Black money bill, she said "our views are similar".
