Congress chief whip in Punjab Assembly Navtej Singh Cheema today demanded that duration of the Budget Session should be at least three weeks so that public issues could be highlighted and discussed threadbare.

The Sultanpur Lodhi MLA alleged that the ruling SAD-BJP combine was afraid of public anger and will try to have a very brief budget session next year.

He said Badals would try to dodge discussions on public issues by opposition MLAs and demanded that the session should be at least of three-week duration so that issues could be discussed threadbare.

Accusing Badals of squandering crores of rupees on 'sadbhavna' rallies, Cheema alleged that Badals suffered from "captain-phobia" and their one-point programme was "captain-bashing".
