Building materials and technology on exhibition

"Build Intec-2014", the 7th International Building and Construction Trade Fair here from February 6, will show case the latest technology and materials available for the construction industry.

S Manivasakam, Chairman of Build Intec, told reporters today that the event was an effort to create awareness about eco-friendly building materials and components and machineries that would reduce human effort.

In order to reduce the carbon foot print and promote green concept, the organisors, Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA), has tied up with Indian Green Building council, who would throw light on this subject to create a better and sustainable environment, he said.
 

Another exhibition, HEXPO-2014, parallel to this event, would also be conducted, displaying equipments and materials, which the hospitality industry would like to source from.

R Ramachandran, President, CODISSIA, said that over 250 exhibitors were displaying their equipment, including those from USA, Germany, Italy and China and also from states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. He added that the event is expected to generate a business turnover of about Rs 100 crore, with the footfall of one lakh visitors, both from India and abroad.

R Nandagopal, CEO, Greaves Cotton Ltd, Construction Equipment Business, Chennai, who released the invitation for the event at a function earlier, said that the construction industry has tremendous potential considering the massive urbanisation the country is witnessing.
