In controversial remarks, Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena chief Amit Jani today said that Jama Masjid Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari and Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan "should go to Pakistan".

Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena came to limelight a few years back for vandalising a life-size statue of former chief minister and BSP chief Mayawati.

"The right place for Shahi Imam Bukhari and Azam Khan is Pakistan and not India. Bukhari and Azam should be taken to Pakistan," he said addressing the outfit's workers here.

He made the statement while condemning Bukhari for inviting Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the ceremony of anointing his son as his successor but not Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Azam for his remark that Taliban and Dawood Ibrahim had provided funds for SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's 75th mega birthday bash.
