Bullet removed after 4 days, medical officer suspended

A medical officer at the district hospital here has been suspended for negligence of duty, official sources said today.

Yogesh Aggarwal has been placed under suspension while chief medical superintendent MM Aggarwal was transferred to Saharanpur after lapses were found in the treatment of a bullet injury patient.

Following a complaint, District Magistrate Surender Singh discovered that a bullet was removed from the said patient, Kapil Kumar, four days after he was admitted in hospital.

Kumar is still undergoing treatment.

Action was taken against the two officials at the district hospital after the DM ruled that they had failed to properly discharge their duties in the case.
