A city court sentenced notorious criminal, Devinder Singh alias 'Bunty Chor' to ten years in jail today for breaking into an NRI businessman's house here and stealing several costly items from it in 2013.
Describing Devinder as a "habitual offender," Chief Judicial Magistrate P Krishnakumar also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him.
Bunty was convicted in the case on April 12.

Delhi-based Bunty was wanted in connection with scores of cases across the country when he was arrested.
The Kerala police had arrested him from a hotel in Pune after he gave them the slip.
The prosecution had prayed to the court to award maximum punishment possible for the charges slapped on him saying that he was a habitual offender.
According to the prosecution, Bunty had broken into NRI's house after disabling the high-tech security systems like intruder alarm.
He then took away a laptop and some other costly gadgets, and also a luxury car parked in the house.
Bunty enjoyed the status of a 'skilled conman' and even had brief stint in a television reality show some time back.
