Advisor to the Israeli National Economic Council Harry Yuklea said here today that bureaucratic hurdles exist in every country, but the public should go ahead with what they want if they have ideas.

"Governments are bureaucratic and they are bureaucratic in Israel also. They create barriers. However, we (the public in Israel) 'divorce' from the government, a friendly divorce. We let them do what they want to," Yuklea said.

"We (the public) build the industry. We don't expect the government to do that. What is true we have in Israel, is a legal system that forces the government not to interfere too much. There is a research and development law and if people have ideas, they go ahead with that," he said.

He said Israel wanted co-operation with India in agriculture, energy, healthcare and information technology, among other sectors.

Israel, he said, is a entrepreneurial country, a start-up nation, where innovation is given importance.

Yuklea stated that it is important for India to create an ecosystem for young entrepreneurs because India's cultural environment hinders entrepreneurs from opening new ventures.
