: Burglars failed in their attempt to steal 350 sovereigns of gold jewellery from a cooperative society bank at Bethanaikenpatty village last night as they could not break the iron box in which the money was kept, police said.
Acting on a complaint from society Assistant secretary Selvaraj, police rushed to the spot with sniffer dogs.
The bank did not have a watchman, CCTV or any other alarm, police said.
