At least four intruders allegedly raped a married woman after looting her jewellery, cash and a mobile phone at her house in Jhinkiria village under Bayalish Mouza of Cuttack sadar, the police said today.

The Police, after registering a case, are investing into the incident that happened last night.

"We are yet to get any clues about the miscreants. But nevertheless, our manhunt is on," said Cuttack Sadar police inspector Debadutta Kar informing raids have already been conducted at several places.

The Police said a family from Ganjam district had settled in the village in a rented accommodation for over two years.

While the husband, an insurance agent, was attending an ailing relative in a hospital in Cuttack city last night, four burglars entered his house after breaking open the main door.

"Brandishing knives at my six-year-old daughter and two-year-old son, the intruders took away my ornaments. Then tying my children in one room, they forcibly took me to a nearby deserted place on the bank of river Kathojodi and raped me one after the other," the rape survivor has stated in her FIR.
