Five ancient 'pancha dhatu' idols were found stolen from a temple near here today, police said.
Priest of Sanikizhamai Iyyanaar temple, Gajendran, found the locks of the door broken and five idols missing early this morning, they said.
The temple is under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endownment Department of Kerala government.
District Superintendent of Police P S Kaliraj Maheshkumar, who visited the temple, said a special team has been formed to nab the culprits.
