Burglary gang busted in Srinagar; 7 held

With the arrest of seven persons, police today claimed to have busted a gang of burglars in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.

Stolen property worth lakhs of rupees was seized from the arrested persons, police said.

"On specific information, police arrested seven burglars in Achabal area of the district and recovered stolen property worth lakhs of rupees on their disclosure," a police spokesman said here.

He said the seizure includes 68 mobile phones, two laptops, two television sets, four cameras, two gas cylinders, 10 shawls, three watches, one golden chain, one golden ring, 13 sheep, one calf, copper utensils and other household goods.
 

The matter is being investigated, he added.
