Burnt out transformers in Bihar villages to be changed within

Laying emphasis on electricity supply particularly in rural areas, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi today instructed officials to change all burnt out transformers within six months.

Manjhi also issued instructions at a review meeting of the Energy department here to rectify technical problems for uninterrupted power supply in urban areas, Energy Secretary Pratya Amrit said in a statement.

Manjhi said that power was a top priority of the state government and funds would not be lacking.

Amrit said that the the chief minister instructed that transformers recommended by MPs and legislators be installed in a definite time period.

Amrit, who is also Chairman-cum Managing Director of Power State Power Holding Corporations said that the corporations would reward employees for efficiency.
 

Chief Secretary Ashok Kumar Sinha, Development Commissioner Alok Kumar Sinha and Principal Secretary to the CM Anjani Kumar Singh attended the meeting.
