About two dozen persons belonging to a group attending a marriage were injured when the mini bus carrying them overturned near Jagjitpur village today.

All of the injured, which included women and children, were hospitalised, police sources said.

The group was going from Phillaur to Bullowal village in Hoshiarpur district when the driver lost control over the bus while trying to avoid a collision with a tractor trolley on Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road, police said.

Driver Kuldip Singh, who also sustained injuries, said a tractor trolley came in front abruptly and he lost control while trying to avoid a collision with it.

However, the victims alleged that the driver was driving very rash resulting in the mishap.

Police is investigating the matter.
