Bus conductor attacked by 3 for resisting their robbery bid

A bus conductor was attacked by three unidentified armed assailants at Jait Miner near here tonight after he resisted their attempt to loot the UP Roadways' bus, police said.

The incident occurred tonight when the three accused boarded the bus en route Kosi Kalan from Mathura at Goverdhan crossing. The miscreants tried to loot the bus and its 50 passengers on-board on gun point. When the conductor resisted their bid they hit him on his head with a country-made pistol, said SSP Nitin Tewari.

The accused alighted the bus after robbing the bus conductor of Rs 4,000 as they saw a police jeep approaching the spot, Tewari said.
 

The conductor was rushed to a local hospital and is said to be stable, he added.
