Casualties are feared as a passenger bus fell into a canal near Sirhind in Fathegarh Sahib district of Punjab today, police said.
"A portion of the bus can be seen in the water headworks of Sirhind canal," Fatehgarh Sahib SSP Gurmeet Singh Chauhan said.
The bus had rolled down about three KM downstream in the canal along the national highway, he said.

He did not rule out the possibility of casualties in the mishap.
The railing along the highway is broken, he added.
The services of divers have been taken, he said, adding that at present the divers are reluctant to enter the canal as the flow of water is very high.
"We have asked the authorities to lower the flow of water so that the bus can be pulled out with the help of cranes and the passengers can be taken out," he said.
