Puducherry government will consider the representations received from various political parties and outfits seeking to reconsider the increase in bus fare in the Union Territory.
Talking to newsmen here today, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said the fare was revised after the bus owners had requested for revision in view of hike in prices of petrol and increase inexpenditure in operating bus services.
Narayanasamy said that he had nowreceived representations from various political parties and organisations seeking reconsideration of the fare as they felt that the rise in the fare structure was hitting commuters.
"We will consider these representations and arrive at a decision to fix the fare which would not affect the people", he said.
