Business establishments in many places of Nagaland downed shutters in a lightning six-hour shut down across the state today.

The agitation, from 6 am to 12 pm, was called by Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT).

ACAUT vice-chairman Joel Nillo Kath told PTI that the shut-down was called to express resentment against GPRN and NSCN for the 'illegal confinement' of the body's Nagaland secretary Solomon L Awomi for three days and interrogation with his hands tied and eyes blind folded.

The protest was near-total across the state barring Mokokchung town, Kath said.

Normal functioning of the business establishments in the state commenced from afternoon, he added.
