Businessman book for 'misleading' police

A businessman was today booked for "wasting time and misleading" the police with false information aimed at avoiding repayment of his loan taken from a bank in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, police said.

Feroz Ahmad Lone, a resident of Ananwan-Kralgund village, lodged an FIR in a local police station on Thursday, alleging that unidentified burglars struck his business unit 'Atif enterprises' at Kargam and decamped with some machinery like a generator, interlock machine and sewing machine.

"During investigation it was found that the complainant had availed a loan from Jammu and Kashmir bank for setting up his business unit and had failed to repay the loan amount to the bank," a police spokesperson said.
 

"In order to avoid the repayment of the loan, he staged the drama and submitted a frivolous and false information to the police," police said, adding, Lone has been booked for "wasting the time and for misleading" the police.
