Businessman killed in Jharkhand

Unidentified assailants killed a businessman dealing in garments in Karra in Khunti district, the police today said.

No sooner the victim, Durga Saw alias Gupta returned home from work last night, masked assailants arrived and slit his throat last night, police said.

The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained as yet even as the police has pressed sniffer dogs into service to achieve a clue in this regard.

Following the incident, Gupta was immediately rushed to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science, Ranchi, where doctors declared him brought dead, sources said.

Police said a mask, a knife, wire and hand glove, which the killers believed to have abandoned after committing the crime, were found in a field behind the house of the victim.
 

Meanwhile, all the business establishment and markets observed a bandh while road traffic was also badly hit in protest against the incident.

The bandh supporters were demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.
