Businessman rescued from abductors, 7 arrested

Police rescued a businessman along with ransom money of Rs 28.90 lakh from Bihar's Rohtas district in the early hours today and arrested seven of his kidnappers.

The arrested included the kidnap mastermind along with three country-made pistols, nine cartridges, four mobile handsets, a car and a motorcycle.

The businessman was kidnapped on October 11 from Narsiganj area and his kidnappers had demanded Rs two crore ransom to free him, Shahabad Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mohammad Rahman said.

Later the kidnappers agreed to release the businessman on payment of Rs 27 lakh, which was was seized by the police along with Rs 1.9 lakh which was paid by his relatives.
 

The DIG said the businessamn was rescued by a special team, which was constituted by the superintendent of police M S Dhillon, from Pipradih village under Rohtas police station of the district.
