An Ahmedabad-based businessman was allegedly robbed of cash and precious gems worth around Rs 1.35 crore at gunpoint by two bike-borne persons at north Delhi's Sadar Bazar area today.
The incident took place in the morning when the businessman, Praveen, and his associate, Bharat, who had come to Delhi for business purpose, were travelling in an autorickshaw which they had hired from Old Delhi railway station, said a police official.
Suddenly two bike-borne men intercepted their autorickshaw and entered into an altercation with the driver. Suddenly, the pillion rider tried to snatch Praveen's bag, containing cash and precious gems worth around Rs 1.35 crore. When he resisted, the robber allegedly stabbed him on his thigh and pulled out his gun, said the official.
