In two separate robbery incidents, a businessman was allegedly robbed of Rs two crore at gunpoint by five assailants, and a 19-year-old jewellery shop employee was shot dead by three men who looted over half kg gold in Karol Bagh here last night.
According to the police, they are not ruling out the possibility of role of an insider in both the cases.
Paramaditya, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central),said the eight assailants were yet to be identified.

Police said that the first robbery incident took place at around 8.15 pm yesterday when a mobile phone shop owner, identified as 58-year-old Shyamlal, was about to close his premises and five unidentified armed men forcibly entered the shop in lane 53 of Karol Bagh's Raigar Pura.
They showed guns at Shyamlal and three of his employees and tied them up together with a rope and allegedly took away Rs two crore from the shop, which the owner said to have withdrawn in the afternoon for business purposes, police said.
The accused fled the scene along with the mobile phones of the victims.
Shyamlal and his employees managed to free themselves and reported the matter to the police after which an FIR was registered and statements of the victims were recorded.
Police said that the victims could not identify any of the five accused. It has collected CCTV footage of the area and also questioned neighbouring traders, zeroed in on few bad characters of the area whose names were not disclosed.
According to the police, the second incident took place at around 11.15 pm yesterday when a youth, who was working in a jewellery shop at lane 37 of Karol Bagh's Biadon Pura, was shot dead allegedly by three unidentified men.
The men after firing at Milan Majhi's head, robbed around 600 gm of raw gold from the shop and fled the spot. Majhi was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors, it said.
It added that the shop's other two employees, who were there in the shop when Majhi was shot, were being questioned but they have not identified the accused as yet.
Police said that the three workers were threatened by the accused at the time of the incident but allegedly shot Majhi when he tried to raise an alarm.
Majhi belonged to West Bengal and was working in the shop for the past few years, the police official said.
