Businessman shoots himself

Amarjeet Singh, who earlier worked with Doordarshan as a senior cameraman, shot himself at his residence in Siddhartha Enclave and police received a call regarding the incident at 7:58 am, a senior police official said.

He was immediately rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre where doctors declared him brought dead.

Singh owns Owner of Cine India Ltd, which deals in renting out equipment used for cinematography.

"Singh shot himself on the right temple using his licensed revolver. Nothing was found disturbed at the spot. Site was inspected by crime team and was photographed. The weapon and its licence have been seized," the official said.

 

He was immediately rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre where doctors declared him brought dead.

The reason for his taking the extreme step was not immediately known as he did not leave any suicide note.

"Investigations are on to ascertain the reasons for suicide. The body has been sent for postmortem," the official said.

The official said he lived in the house with his servant and his sons were residing outside Delhi.
