Businessmen can now carry cash up to Rs 10 lakh after getting a proforma document prepared by the district election commissioner with details like where the money is being taken to and for what purpose.
With the Model Code of Conduct coming into force in Uttar Pradesh, industrialist were facing hardships in carrying cash as police are seizing any amount more than Rs 50,000 in cash during checking of vehicles.
A delegation of businessmen recently met District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma in this regard and the official told them to carry a proforma document signed by him and containing details like their name, address, where the money is being take to and for what purpose.
