In a bid to control spiralling prices of dal and oil, the Chhattisgarh government today directed shopkeepers to display its stock and price.

Officials said Chief Minister Raman Singh directed all the district collectors to keep a check on the prices of dal and oil.

As per the Chief Minister's directive, guidelines have been issued by the Food and Consumer Protection ministry to the officers concerned in this regard.

The guidelines states that in the past four months, there has been substantial increase in the prices of dal and oil.

"The collectors have to ensure that shopkeepers display the stock and price of these items. Meanwhile, the government has also decided the hoarding capacity for traders," officials said.
