The Congress today appointed a team of coordinators and observers to strengthen the party unit in Bastar region of the BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh ahead of the assembly polls in the state later this year.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi has approved the proposal to appoint a special team of coordinators and observers to activate the party organisation in Bastar region of
Chhattisgarh," party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said in a statement.
The Congress has appointed former MP Pradeep Manjhi, Ballaiah Naik and Srinivas Gomase as coordinators.
Besides, there are 14 observers.
Arun Oraon, AICC secretary in-charge, Chhattisgarh will monitor and coordinate their activities, Dwivedi added.
