Chhattisgarh government has launched a mega awareness campaign to check the adulteration of milk being sold in the markets.
The drive, titled 'Doodh ka doodh, Pani ka pani', a joint venture of Chhattisgarh State Dairy Federation and Kamdhenu University, began yesterday under which the first camp was held at Rohnipuram area of Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar to examine the quality of milk, a spokesperson of the dairy federation said today.
People attended the camp in large numbers where they got the samples of milk purchased by them for domestic use.

As per the consumers, they were being charged Rs 30 to Rs 52 per litre for milk sold in their areas.
While the milk costing Rs 34 per litre was found to be of good quality, adulteration was detected in milk sold at Rs 50 per litre, he said.
The consumers were also informed that use of loose milk could be hazardous to their health, he added.
