The Chhattisgarh government has signed an MoU with datacenter and enterprise cloud start-up Pi Datacenters Pvt Ltd to set up a data center in Naya Raipur, the upcoming new capital of the state.
The agreement was inked between Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) and the company in the presence of Chief Minister Raman Singh here at his official residence last evening, a government official here said today.
It will be developed on a sprawling 10 acres of land in sector-22 of Naya Raipur at a cost of Rs 200 crore.

Chief Executive Officer of NRDA, Mukesh Bansal and director of Pi Datacenters Kalyan Muppaneni signed the agreement on behalf of their respective agencies, according to which the facility will be fully operational within 18 months, he added.
Hailing the initiatives being taken in the IT sector, chief minister Raman Singh said Naya Raipur will have underground facilities of electricity supply, internet connectivity and water supply.
The state government is committed to ensure uninterrupted facilities to IT service providers companies interested to invest in the state, he said.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) CEO Alex Paul Menon apprsied that the proposed data center in Naya Raipur will be first tier-IVdata center of central India.
It will cater to diverse geographies for high performance computing needs and intensive workloads, Menon said.
