The Chandigarh administration has taken steps to regulate the sale of uniforms and other items belonging to army, police and paramilitary forces to prevent terrorists from misusing them.
"It has been noticed that terrorists misuse uniforms/ stickers/logos/flags and any other item belonging to army, police and paramilitary forces for committing acts of terror. Keeping (this) in view, the District Magistrate, Chandigarh, has imposed some checks on sale of items belonging to these forces," an official release said here.
An order from Deputy Commissioner Ajit Balaji Joshi said: "Any shopkeeper/seller within the Union Territory of Chandigarh shall not sell any uniform/sticker/logo/flag and any other item belonging to army/police/paramilitary forces without keeping the record and identity proofs of the purchaser."

The order came into force on January 23 and shall be effective for a period of 60 days, it said.
