A 19-year-old man questioned recently in a murder case was killed by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district, police said on Tuesday.

Shyamnath Anchala was shot dead on Monday night in Jungda village under Koyalibeda police station limits, around 200 kilometres from here, Kanker Superintendent of Police KL Dhruv told PTI.

"Naxals took Anchla from the village to the forests nearby and killed him. A police team has reached the village and probe is underway," he said.

Anchla was recently interrogated by police in connection with the murder of a school teacher, Dhansingh Usendi (40), in Koyalibeda area, the SP said.

Usendi's body was found on a road in the area on August 5, he added.
