C'garh: TwoIEDsrecoveredin Kondagaon district

Security forces today recovered twoimprovised explosive devices (IED), allegedly planted by Naxals, in Chhattisgarh's Kondgaon district.

The explosives packed in steel tiffin boxes were seized from a dirt track near Churegaon village under Iragaon police station limits, a district police official told PTI.

While oneIEDweighed 10 kg,another was ofaround 5 kg, he added.

Acting on specific inputs, a joint squad of District Force and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) had launched a search operation to the interiors of Iragaon to trace the explosives, he said.

While cordoning off a dirt track that goes along a river near Churegaon village, they spotted the IEDs averting a major mishap, the official said adding the explosives were planted by rebels to target the security personnel during their operation in the area.
 

Theexplosivewas immediately defused by the district's bomb disposal squad, he added.
