: Eminent writer C Radhakrishnan wastoday conferred with the Mathrubhumi Literary Award for this year in recognition of his richcontribution to the field of literature.
The award was presented by renowned writer M T Vasudevan Nair at a function, presided by Mathrubhumi Managing Director M P Veerendra Kumar, MP.

Radhakrishnan was selected by a panel chaired by novelist M Mukundan, with Sethu and Sarah Joseph being other members.
The award, instituted by the leading Malayalam daily in 2001, carries a cash prize of Rs two lakh, a citation and a statuette.
The writer-cum-filmmaker was chosen for this year's Ezhuthachan Award, the highest literary honour of the Kerala government.
Recipient of several coveted honors, including the National Literary Academy of India, Kerala Literary Academy, Vayalar Awardand Padmaprabha Puraskaram, Radhakrishnan was born in Chamravattom in Ponnani taluk in Malappuram district on February 15, 1939.
Many of his works had garnered much attention at the publishing stage itself.
