CA Technologies invests in IDG Ventures

The US-headquartered infotech company CA Technologies has invested in a new fund of technology-focused IDG Ventures for spotting startups and technology trends.

It, however, did not disclose the amount put into the venture capital fund, in what it called as a strategic investment.

The investment has been done in IDG Ventures India Fund II LLC, it said in a statement, adding the company will be a strategic, limited partner.

"With IDG Ventures India, we have a proven partner who can help us gain early visibility into the many enterprise software startups in the region that represent compelling investment opportunities," executive VP for strategy and corporate development Jacob Lamm said.
 

The investment will give provide CA with a platform to nurture new ideas and innovations outside the constraints of an existing business, the company said in a statement.

It will also gain periodic proprietary updates on technology trends, market dynamics and the venture landscape, the statement said.

IDG Ventures' investments include fashion and lifestyle brand Myntra.Com and Apalya Technologies, among others.
