Himachal Pradesh cabinet today approved regularisation of unauthorised constructions in areas under Town and Country Planning and local bodies upto 70 per cent at nominal fee to reward about 30,000 building owners, who have constructed buildings or made deviation in violation of law.
The cabinet also approved promulgation of an ordinance to regularise the deviation upto 35 per cent on payment of nominal fee of Rs 800 per square meter for ground floor and Rs 400 per square meters for subsequent floors while the compounding fee would be double for deviations between 35 and 70 per cent, which is almost ten per cent of the construction cost at present.
The deviations would be permitted on "as is, where is" basis provided 30 per cent space is available as per the requirement of set-backs and the applicants would have to apply within 45 days from the date of promulgation of the Ordinance and the buildings constructed on government or Municipal lands would not be regularised.
